| Our goal in the Quitman County School District is to recruit teachers who are willing to contribute their unique experiences to help every one of our almost 1,700 students achieve an educational experience that enables them to become self-sufficient adults. The Quitman County School District needs teachers who are themselves as leaders in eliminating the inequities typically associated with low-income communities. To that end QCSD has undertaken an extensive professional development program for its existing teaching staff and an aggressive, dedicated commitment to recruiting and employing high-quality classroom professionals. We want teachers who possess a high degree of personal responsibility, strong teaching skills, including the ability to motivate and the capacity to organize. Why teach in Quitman County Mississippi? Why not? Our commitment to children first speaks directly to our goals as an educational organization. Our dedication to training and professional development and our commitment to attract high quality individuals into our teaching fellowship are indicative of the high level of professional satisfaction that can be derived from teaching in our community. Why teach in Quitman County Mississippi? We have the benefits of small town America, with the availability of cultural, recreational and entertainment options that excel in comparison to many other regions of the country. Quitman County is only an hour from the metropolis of Memphis, with its multiplicity of cultural and professional sports activities; it is less than an hour from the entertainment venues afforded by Mississippi's major gaming industry; and, it is located in the heart of one of America's premiere hunting and fishing destinations. We look forward to hearing from you. |
